Why close 6music and Asian Network?
Dear BBC Trust Enquiries,
I'm shocked and disappointed to learn that you are planning to close both 6music and Asian Network. Where's your point of difference now? For someone like me (25-34, white, male) what should I listen to now? 1 isn't relevant, 2 is too old, 3 not right, 4 too talky, 5 too sporty. So what is there for me? A really sad decision. Instead of ignoring the niche, try to grow it. It's not like you've made any effort with either station really. Bowing down to the mainstream is not the answer. And as for reducing web content - as someone who works in the web this genuinely horrifies me. The BBC of recent times has been about innovation and why it's one of my favourite online brands. And you're doing this all to aid programme funds - does this mean that we can expect even more costume dramas and Casualty offshoots? As you're stripping away so much that I like about your organisation, does this mean that I can expect a reduction in my TV license at some point?ThanksJ
